Wisdom of children

We all have bad days. I've had a particularly hard week this past week. I am usually pretty hopeful and positive in general, but this week has been tough. As I have reflected on how to get out of this slump, if nothing else but for the sake of my kids (who have not seen the best of me lately), I am reminded of something Lucas has said to me a few times. "Mom, sometimes things happen that way." And indeed, Lucas, though you are only 3, you are right. Sometimes things happen that way. I need to look ahead with hope and remember that of all of the things that truly matter in my life, all is right. The rest will work itself out.
